She has already appeared as a soloist at some of Europe\u2019s most renowned opera houses, including the Semperoper Dresden, the Hamburg State Opera, Deutsche Oper am Rhein D\u00fcsseldorf, Leipzig Opera, Op\u00e9ra National de Montpellier, and the State Opera Hanover.<\/p>\n<p>In the 2025\u20132026 season, Athanasia Z\u00f6hrer is a permanent ensemble member of the Leipzig Opera, where she presents the breadth of her core repertoire alongside a highly anticipated role debut. She opens her season with her debut as Fiordiligi in a new production of Mozart\u2019s <strong><em>Cos\u00ec fan tutte<\/em><\/strong>. She can also be heard as Gilda (<strong><em>Rigoletto<\/em><\/strong>), Mim\u00ec (<strong><em>La Boh\u00e8me<\/em><\/strong>), and Violetta (<strong><em>La Traviata<\/em><\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>Artistic highlights of recent seasons include her debut as Mathilde in Rossini\u2019s\u00a0<strong><em>Guillaume Tell<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and her role debut as Rosalinde alongside Rolando Villaz\u00f3n in\u00a0<strong><em>Die Fledermaus<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0at Theater St. Gallen. She made her debut as Violetta in\u00a0<strong><em>La Traviata<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0at Theater Chemnitz. At the Leipzig Opera, she sang Adina (<strong><em>L\u2019elisir d\u2019amore<\/em><\/strong>), Pamina (<strong><em>Die Zauberfl\u00f6te<\/em><\/strong>), and Gilda in Verdi\u2019s\u00a0<strong><em>Rigoletto<\/em><\/strong>. At the Hamburg State Opera, she sang Zerlina (<strong><em>Don Giovanni<\/em><\/strong>), debuted as Mim\u00ec in Puccini\u2019s\u00a0<strong><em>La Boh\u00e8me<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0at Theater Kiel, and performed Micha\u00ebla (<strong><em>Carmen<\/em><\/strong>). She made her Mozart Week debut in the children\u2019s opera\u00a0<strong><em>Der Alte Baum<\/em><\/strong>. Z\u00f6hrer gave her role debut as Agathe (<strong><em>Der Freisch\u00fctz<\/em><\/strong>) at the Salzburg State Theatre, appeared as Sifare in Mozart\u2019s\u00a0<strong><em>Mitridate<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>at Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de Lausanne, and sang Virginia in\u00a0<strong><em>Das Gespenst von Canterville<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0at the Vienna Volksoper. At Hanover State Opera, she performed roles such as Corinna (<strong><em>Il viaggio a Reims<\/em><\/strong>), Gretel (<strong><em>H\u00e4nsel und Gretel<\/em><\/strong>), Nannetta (<strong><em>Falstaff<\/em><\/strong>), and Servilia (<strong><em>La clemenza di Tito<\/em><\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>On the concert stage, Athanasia Z\u00f6hrer toured France with a Mozart program alongside the Orchestre national des Pays de la Loire and appeared with Rolando Villaz\u00f3n in a gala concert at the Koncerthuset in Copenhagen. She made her debut in\u00a0Mahler\u2019s <strong><em>Symphony No.\u202f2<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0with the Philharmonic Orchestra Kiel and performed\u00a0Brahms\u2019\u00a0<strong><em>Requiem<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0in Vienna.<\/p>\n<p>Born in Berlin to Greek\u2013Austrian parents, the soprano earned her Bachelor\u2019s and Master\u2019s degrees in Classical Singing and Opera at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. She is a recipient of scholarships from the H\u00fcbel Foundation and the Gianna Szell Scholarship and has been honored with the prestigious\u00a0Prize of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Science and Research.<\/p>\n<p>In 2014, Athanasia Z\u00f6hrer won the joint prize of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Komische Oper Berlin, and the Berlin State Opera at the German National Singing Competition.
