Amin Ahangaran, praised as a \u201cfull-bodied and firm bass\u201d with a \u201cbeautiful nocturnal colour\u201d (Opera Libera) and \u201cone of the most charming voices of his generation\u201d (OPERA Charm Magazine), is an alumnus of both the Accademia del Teatro del Maggio Musicale in Florence and the Zurich Opera\u2019s International Opera Studio (IOS). A current ensemble member of the Op\u00e9ra de Paris, Ahangaran is one of the announced participants of the renowned Operalia competition in Sofia, set to take place at the Bulgaria Concert Hall in October 2025.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The highly anticipated 2025-26 season holds exciting roles for Amin Ahangaran: at Op\u00e9ra de Paris he appears as Angelotti in\u202f<\/span>Tosca<\/span><\/i><\/b>, followed by Zaretsky in Ralph Fiennes\u2019 new\u202f<\/span>Eugene Onegin<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u202funder Semyon Bychkov and Case Scaglione. Further in Paris, he portrays Parsi Rustomjiin\u202fin a new production of Glass\u2019 <\/span>Satyagraha<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u202f staged by Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber and led by Ingo Metzmacher, and closes the season as Dottore in\u202f<\/span>La traviata<\/span><\/i><\/b>. On the concert stage, the bass returns to the Zurich Opera as Brander in Berlioz\u2019\u202f<\/span>La Damnation de Faust<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u202fwith maestro Yves Abel.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the 2024\u201325 season, Ahangaran joined the ensemble of the Op\u00e9ra de Paris where he saw performances as Wagner (<\/span>Faust<\/span><\/i><\/b>), Conte Ceprano (<\/span>Rigoletto<\/span><\/i><\/b>), Un Berger and Le M\u00e9decin (<\/span>Pell\u00e9as et M\u00e9lisande<\/span><\/i><\/b>), and Un d\u00e9put\u00e9 flamand (<\/span>Don Carlos<\/span><\/i><\/b>).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Previous highlights include performances at the Zurich Opera as Rabonnier (<\/span>La rondine<\/span><\/i><\/b>), Medico (<\/span>Macbeth<\/span><\/i><\/b>), Theseus (<\/span>A Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream<\/span><\/i><\/b>), the Mandarin (<\/span>Turandot<\/span><\/i><\/b>), and Dumas (<\/span>Andrea Ch\u00e9nier<\/span><\/i><\/b>), as well as Don Basilio (<\/span>Il barbiere di Siviglia<\/span><\/i><\/b>) in Schaffhausen. He appeared at the Salzburg Festival\u2019s Young Singers Project in\u202fthe new production of Prokofiev\u2019s <\/span>The Gambler<\/span><\/i><\/b>, and has collaborated with conductors such as Riccardo Frizza, Gianandrea Noseda, Daniele Gatti, and Manfred Honeck in productions including\u202f<\/span>Rigoletto<\/span><\/i><\/b> (Usciere),\u202f<\/span>Siberia <\/span><\/i><\/b>(L’ispettore),\u202f<\/span>Ariadne auf Naxos<\/span><\/i><\/b> (Lakai),\u202f<\/span>Jakob Lenz<\/span><\/i><\/b>\u202f(Basso) and\u202f<\/span>La traviata<\/span><\/i><\/b> (Un Commissionario).\u202f\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Amin Ahangaran\u2019s artistic training began in Tehran in 2016 and continued in Austria, where he debuted as Sarastro (<\/span>The Magic Flute<\/span><\/i><\/b>) and performed regularly as a soloist in the Graz region. He is a laureate of scholarships from AIMS and Academia Belcanto, participating in several prestigious masterclasses.
