Her voice is praised for its \u201cpurity of timbre, the brilliance of its highs and the powerful lyricism of its line\u2026sonorous nuances that give way to sumptuously ethereal pianissimi\u201d (<em>Olyrix<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>D\u2019Eramo opens the 2025\/26 season at Theater St. Gallen as Chrysothemis in a revival of <strong><em>Elektra<\/em><\/strong> and returns as Mim\u00ec in <strong><em>La boh\u00e8me<\/em><\/strong>, one of her signature roles, both under the baton of Modestas Pitrenas. The season is marked by a series of significant role and house debuts: she takes on the role of Anna S\u00f8rensen in Kevin Puts\u2019s Pulitzer Prize-winning <strong><em>Silent Night<\/em><\/strong> with Houston Grand Opera, Marta in Tobias Kratzer\u2019s staging of <strong><em>Die Passagierin<\/em><\/strong> with Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, and Gutrune in Wagner\u2019s <strong><em>G\u00f6tterd\u00e4mmerung<\/em><\/strong> with the Atlanta Opera. She concludes the season at Santa Fe Opera, reprising the role of Gerda Wegener in Tobias Picker\u2019s <strong><em>Lili Elbe<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Sylvia D\u2019Eramo has established herself on the international stage with major role debuts in leading houses. She sang Mim\u00ec in <strong><em>La boh\u00e8me<\/em><\/strong> at Dallas Opera under Emmanuel Villaume and at Santa Fe Opera in James Robinson\u2019s production with Iv\u00e1n L\u00f3pez-Reynoso, in addition to her early success in the role at the Verbier Festival under James Gaffigan. At Theater St. Gallen she created the role of Gerda Wegener in the world premiere of Tobias Picker\u2019s <strong><em>Lili Elbe<\/em><\/strong>, and took on Elvira in Verdi\u2019s <strong><em>Ernani<\/em><\/strong> under Modestas Pitrenas. Further highlights include Kitty\/Vanessa in the world premiere of Kevin Puts\u2019s <strong><em>The Hours<\/em><\/strong> at the Metropolitan Opera, Musetta in <strong><em>La boh\u00e8me<\/em><\/strong> under Yannick N\u00e9zet-S\u00e9guin at the Met, Donna Elvira in <strong><em>Don Giovanni<\/em><\/strong> at North Carolina Opera, Maddalena in <strong><em>Andrea Ch\u00e9nier<\/em><\/strong> in St. Gallen, and Mica\u00ebla in <strong><em>Carmen<\/em><\/strong> both at Santa Fe Opera and with Jacksonville Symphony. Earlier in her career she sang Musetta with Lyric Opera of Kansas City and Mimi\u00a0as a cover at Santa Fe.<\/p>\n<p>On the concert stage, D\u2019Eramo has performed Strauss\u2019s <strong><em>Vier letzte Lieder<\/em><\/strong> in St. Gallen under Modestas Pitrenas, appeared with Jonathan Tetelman in Prague\u2019s Rudolfinum and later with the Tivoli Symphony Orchestra in Copenhagen, and sung in concerts in Maribor and Ljubljana with Martin Su\u0161nik. She has also performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra in Kevin Puts\u2019s <strong><em>The Hours<\/em><\/strong> under Yannick N\u00e9zet-S\u00e9guin and with Evan LeRoy Johnson at Musikfest Bremen. Earlier engagements include Beethoven\u2019s <strong><em>Symphony No. 9<\/em><\/strong> with Marin Alsop and the Yale Philharmonia, as well as with the Glens Falls Symphony.<\/p>\n<p>Sylvia D\u2019Eramo began her professional journey as a member of the Los Angeles Opera\u2019s Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artist Program, before joining the Metropolitan Opera\u2019s Lindemann Young Artist Program in 2020\/21. In the same season she won the Thierry Mermod Prize for top singer at the Verbier Festival. She previously gained formative experience as an Apprentice Artist at the Santa Fe Opera, performing Barena in <strong><em>Jen\u016ffa<\/em><\/strong>, Cugina in <strong><em>Madama Butterfly<\/em><\/strong>, and covering Mim\u00ec. A graduate of Yale University, she appeared there as Gretel in <strong><em>H\u00e4nsel und Gretel<\/em><\/strong> and Pamina in <strong><em>Die Zauberfl\u00f6te<\/em><\/strong>. D\u2019Eramo can also be heard as Abigail Williams on Albany Records\u2019 2017 recording of Robert Ward\u2019s <strong><em>The Crucible<\/em><\/strong>.
